If it’s Friday in August – it’s TGIF Time!

TGIF Breakfast Series 2016 - 05

BSW Chairwoman Maranda Auzenne with Hillside Village, invites and encourages you to attend the upcoming BSW 2017 TGIF Legislative Breakfast Series held annually on each Friday in August at Methodist Charlton Medical Center. Fran Laukaitis, MCMC President hosts the breakfasts which begin at 7:15 a.m. in the Outpatient Building, 1st Floor Auditorium, and is over by 9:00 a.m. Breakfasts and parking are free, but reservations should be made to director@bestsouthwest.org, for food count. 

Kenneth Govan, with ONCOR, is chairing this year’s TGIF Breakfast Series, including: 

  • August 4th TGIF features Sen. Royce West, (D-23) with a Senate report of the 85th Legislative Session(s), pluses and minuses, and will be facilitated by Hon. Michael Williams, Distinguished Leader in Residence at UNT Dallas. 
  • August 11th TGIF will include reports from Rep. Helen Giddings, (D-109), and Rep. Toni Rose, (D-110), on the successes and failures from the House perspective of the recent 85th Texas Legislature Session(s), facilitated by Hon. Marcus Knight, Mayor, City of Lancaster.
  • August 18th TGIF features a special presentation by Holly Reed, Texas Central Partners, on “High Speed Rail”, facilitated by Hon. Carl Sherman, City Manager of Hutchins. 
  • August 25th TGIF hosts Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, bringing a “State of the County” report, facilitated by Hon. Curtistene McCowan, Mayor of the City of DeSoto.
